Time: 15 minutes Servings: 1 big bowl
Ingredients
2 tablespoons of oil
3 tablespoons of water
¾ teacup of popcorn kernels
1 tablespoon of honey
¾ teacup of caster sugar or less (it depends on you)
2 tablespoons of water
A pinch of salt (just to give a special touch)
Preparation
- In one big pan pour the oil, popcorn kernels and water. Mix it and close your pan. Take it to a medium-low heat until it starts popping;
- With your pan still closed shake it so that any popcorn can't burn at the bottom. Do this process at every 30 seconds;
- After you noticed that it stopped popping you can take out your popcorns and reserve it in a bowl;
- In one little bowl mix the sugar with salt;
- Using the same pan put the caster sugar with water and mix with a spoon. Take it to a medium heat until the sugar starts caramelizing;
- When you start seeing a brown liquid add your honey and mix it;
- Put all of the popcorn at this caramel (hot caramel) and mix it delicately. After you will notice that all of your popcorn are caramelized;
- Serve it hot with some drink and enjoy.
Notes:
* It is really important to be patient. Do not use high heat or else your popcorn will burn;
** Be careful with the caramel. When it is hot it really burns the skin.
